Purpose:This study was conducted to compare the use of the Nexium 20 (Nexium) tablet 20 mg (Sustraline) for the symptomatic treatment of acid reflux disease (GERD) patients. The study was conducted with an open label study. The results of this study will be presented at a meeting of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) at a later date.
Results:The study results demonstrated that Nexium 20 mg and Nexium 20 mg 20 mg were equally effective in treating acid reflux disease (ERD). The most common adverse events were gastrointestinal discomfort (n = 9), headache (n = 2), abdominal pain (n = 1), diarrhea (n = 1), dyspepsia (n = 1), and nausea (n = 1).
Conclusions:Nexium 20 mg and Nexium 20 mg 20 mg were equally effective in treating acid reflux disease (GERD) patients. However, the incidence of side effects was increased.
