Nexium 20mg is a prescription medicine used to treat acid reflux, heartburn and other stomach problems in adults and children. It is also used for the short term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Nexium 20mg is also used to treat heartburn in children aged 6 and older.
The usual dosage is one 20mg tablet in a 24-hour period and then be taken as directed. Do not exceed the maximum recommended dose. Nexium 20mg may be taken with or without food. You can take this medicine with or without food. Nexium 20mg may take several weeks to show results. Nexium 20mg may cause mild to moderate pain, regurgitation, excessive fluid and stomach bleeding, as well as nausea and vomiting. The dosage may be increased in certain cases.
